About Afro Luxury ATL
We’re Not Decorating. We’re Remembering.
Afro Luxury ATL exists because something went missing from Black homes.
Not style.
Not furniture.
Not money.
Feeling.
Somewhere along the way, Black homes became places we passed through instead of places we landed. Porches disappeared. Corners softened by grandmothers were replaced with open spaces that looked good but didn’t hold us. We learned how to survive inside our houses — but not how to rest.
Afro Luxury ATL is a response to that loss.
This work is about restoring the soul of Black homes by reconnecting Black people to what our Caribbean & Black American ancestors already knew:
Home is not decoration. It’s infrastructure for the nervous system, the family, and the spirit.
Where This Started
I didn’t come to this work through a design trend.
I came to it through memory.
Through noticing how Black women always knew where to sit.
Through watching how porches once functioned as protection, visibility, and community.
Through recognizing that grandmothers created safe corners long before anyone had language for boundaries or regulation.
They didn’t call it design.
They called it sense.
As I began restoring my own porch and listening to the stories of others, one thing became clear:
People weren’t missing décor.
They were missing being held by their homes.
That’s when Afro Luxury ATL became more than a brand.
It became a movement.
What Afro Luxury ATL Does
Afro Luxury ATL is a culturally rooted home restoration studio and storytelling project based in Atlanta.
Our work sits at the intersection of:
- Black home history
- Nervous-system-centered design
- Storytelling and memory
- Porch culture and domestic rituals
We focus especially on front porches, safe corners, and transitional spaces — the places where Black families historically gathered, rested, watched, and connected.
This includes:
- Porch revival experiences
- Cultural home storytelling
- The Search for the Porch docuseries
- Masterclasses and field notes
- Guided rituals for restoring rest and meaning at home
This is slow work.
Intentional work.
Ancestral work.
Why the Porch Matters
The porch was never just extra space.
It was the first community room.
The first lookout.
The first soft boundary between the world and the body.
Porches allowed Black families to be visible without being vulnerable.
Present without being consumed.
Together without being crowded.
When porches disappeared, something else went with them:
- Public rest
- Intergenerational witnessing
- A sense of belonging that didn’t require performance
Afro Luxury ATL exists to help bring that back — in modern ways, without romanticizing the past or ignoring the present.
This Is Not Home Décor Content
Let’s be clear.
Afro Luxury ATL is not about trends.
Not about perfection.
Not about keeping up.
This work asks different questions:
- Where does your body feel safest in your home?
- Where can you sit without bracing?
- What spaces were designed for you — and which ones were not?
If your house looks finished but never feels calm, that’s not a personal failure.
That’s a design conversation we were never invited into.
We’re changing that.
Who This Is For
Afro Luxury ATL is for:
- Black women who are tired of being strong everywhere
- Families who miss the way home used to feel
- People who grew up around porches, but don’t know how to recreate that energy now
- Anyone craving rest that feels dignified, not indulgent
You don’t need to own a porch.
You don’t need to renovate anything.
You just need to feel the pull.
From The Founder
I believe Black homes deserve to feel as powerful as they look.
I believe rest should be built into the structure — not earned after burnout.
I believe grandmothers left us blueprints we’re still learning how to read.
Afro Luxury ATL is my way of honoring that inheritance.
If you’re here, it’s probably because something in your body recognized this work before your mind did.
That’s not an accident.
Welcome home.
